300miles - CLIC Sargent
Although we've completed our 300 mile journey, in 57 hours 10 minutes you can still support the fantastic work CLIC Sargent does for children and young people with cancer and leukemia.

CLIC Sargent is Scotland's leading children's cancer charity, which is a national charity committed to providing care, every step of the way to children and young people diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia and their families. My friend's son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in November 2006 and since then has had many blood transfusions and every four weeks gets chemo through a drip. He travels an 80 mile round trip every time he visits the hospital, significantly less than many of the children who require treatment. CLIC Sargent provides the tangible support that the kids and their families need to try and go on living with this illness. To find out more about CLIC Sargent go to: http://bit.ly/XYJSG .
In May myself and Garry Mackay (we're both Edinburgh firefighters) attempted to raise £25,000 for CLIC Sargent by doing our usual bout of annual stupidity in the form, of a multi-discipline expedition from the south of the Outer Hebrides all the way to the north of the island chain. Visiting all 15 inhabited islands, cycling across all of them, running to the top of the highest hill on each island and kayaking between them. We managed to rack up 300 miles. In 57 hours and 10 minutes. But we haven't reached our target. To be selected as the official charity would help CLIC Sargent and the children and their families massively.
